Growth without jobs? Experiences from the 1990s. Summary report
The study examines whether the relationship between economic growth and employment in Finland changed during the recession of the 1990s and the subsequent recovery phase. It also analyses sector-specific characteristics of the relationship between growth and employment.
Particular attention is paid to the growth of labour productivity, on which the employment intensity of growth largely depends. The relationship between economic growth and employment is altered by an acceleration in productivity growth, rather than by steady productivity growth. (AI translation)
