Strong Growth Continues – Finland Wasn’t a Hopeless Case, After All
It is likely that the threatening trade war will be contained to cover only individual product categories. If this happens, growth will continue to be strong in Finland this year and next. The upturn shows that Finland did not after all have the allegedly exceptional structural problems it was said to have. Due to, among other things, the spending cuts that have been decided, the strong economic performance will not, however, improve the situation of all population groups equally. The growth of income disparities should be slowed through an update of basic social security, which should include the making of index increases no later than next year. (AI translation)
