Forecast figures revised upwards
In the Labour Institute for Economic Research’s April economic forecast, Finland’s gross domestic product was estimated to grow by 1.9 percent in the current year and by 1.7 percent next year. The forecast already seems — two months after its publication — too pessimistic. Finland’s GDP grew in the first quarter of the current year by 2.7 percent compared with the corresponding quarter a year earlier. Our country’s economic growth has thus been considerably faster than the average economic growth of the eurozone and also of the European Union as a whole. (AI translation)
