Risks in housing finance and alternative development options
This study seeks to identify shortcomings in the housing finance system and to consider means of developing housing finance in Finland. Although the primary goal of development should be to increase efficiency, this cannot come at too great a cost to stability. Good risk management is therefore also important from the perspective of housing policy objectives. For this reason, the study examines in depth the role of risks in financial activity in general, as well as the particular nature of the risks associated with housing finance and the means of managing them. The study also includes an empirical analysis of the risks of housing finance, primarily from the perspective of the borrower. (AI translation)
